The Institute for advanced studies (IAS) inaugurated on Tuesday, November 8, a new series of conferences at the Maison Internationale de la Recherche in Neuville. These Guest Lectures are proposed by invited researchers, in all disciplines and held at the lunch hour.
During these Guest Lectures, foreign researchers staying at the University will present their research program, focusing largely on the open research questions, also their scientific and social issues.
These conferences are intended for a wide audience of researchers, exceeding the necessarily restricted circle of disciplinary seminars. With the coming of a renowned international researcher, the objective is to promote, under the auspices of the IAS, a disciplinary openness and exchanges between colleagues from different laboratories who share common scientific interests.
The first conference in this series took place on Tuesday, November 8 from 12:30 to 1: 45 p.m., in the auditorium of the Maison Internationale de la Recherche, at Neuville Campus. Paul Van Tassel, Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Yale university (USA) is a specialist in biomaterials science, in particular in the physicochemical changes to interfaces. He presented his research on biomaterials.
The second conference will be given on Tuesday, December 6, by Diego Coletto, professor of sociology at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, Milan (Italy), specialist in economic sociology and sociology of work.
