Intensive French language and culture seminar

from 9th to 13th September 2019

The French language centre will provide an intensive seminar for international students this fall. The main objective is to allow students to be at ease in French in order to have a good start to first semester courses in Cergy.

[French version]

Description of the seminar:

During the intensive seminar, which includes 20 hours of lessons, you will learn how to:

- feel more at ease when speaking and interacting in class

- train to exchange easily with other participants

- develop self confidence during oral presentations

- improve your written French

The idea behind the course is for you to be immersed in a French speaking environment, to reactivate your skills in French through written and oral productions and to get you actively involved in varied activities relating to current affairs.

Two cultural outings have been organised on the Tuesday and Thursday afternoons of the same week. The two activities for 2019-2020 are as follows:

- Outing 1 : Orsay Museum, Paris,

- Outing 2 : Auvers-sur-Oise

The final objective is to lead students to obtain a B1 or B2 level according to existing skills. However, please note that the seminar will not lead to a diploma.

You will sit a test at the end of the seminar which will generate a global result. If you then wish to enroll in the semester course at the French language centre, you will not have to sit the placement test, the result from the seminar test will be used instead.

The French language centre can, upon request, provide you with an attendance certificate if you were present at the entire course.
