 "Asymptotically Kasner-like singularities"

The Kasner metric is an exact solution to the Einstein vacuum equations, containing a Big Bang singularity.

Examples of more general solutions that exhibit a similar blow-up are in short supply, due to the strongly non-linear nature of Einstein's equations and the complicated dynamics involved.

I will present a recent joint work with Jonathan Luk, which constructs a large family of singular solutions with Kasner-like behavior, without symmetry or analyticity assumptions.
